Grand Hotel Central Barcelona, where things happen first.  A historic stay in Barcelona’s beating heart that celebrates the culture and creativity of the Catalan capital.

The Grand Hotel Central flung open its doors in spring 2024 under new ownership and management following a meticulous refurbishment led by London design studio, Sagrada (London Art’s Club, Maison Breguet Paris, St Regis Venice). The renovation saw its 147 rooms and suites, two restaurants and bars, wellness suite, and rooftop pool and terrace completely reimagined in Catalan Noucentisme style to honour the building’s history and the fascinating life of its founder, Francesc Cambó, a revered politician and patron of the arts.

Located in the centre of Barcelona on the emblematic via Layetana, the Grand Hotel Central sits between the bustling Born, glistening beaches and the sophisticated Paseo de Gràcia, putting the city’s cultural, gastronomic, and creative treasures within easy reach.

Enjoy sharing tapas, plates and local wines at Can Bo, the hotel’s lively streetside restaurant & bodega, or light Mediterranean bites and creative cocktails poolside at La Terraza del Central where the rooftop infinity pool gives way to an unrivalled cityscape, far above the hustle and bustle.

Guests are fast-tracked to the very best of local culture across the worlds of art, wellbeing, music, history, design and  craftmanship via exclusive experiences, unique rituals and a rotating in-house gallery space.

Elsewhere, explore the historic wood-panelled library which houses Cambó’s personal book collection and is the setting for social gatherings and a regular programme of literary talks and events. Alternatively, opt to rejuvenate aching muscles after a busy day of sightseeing at the Wellness Suite, a calming urban spa where a gym, sauna, and Natura Bissé treatments are on offer.

All this within an elegant and relaxed atmosphere where attentive, friendly service is the highest priority. Welcome to the new Grand Hotel Central!
